Types of Food That Boost the Immune System

By Dickson Osas

Eating is one of the basic foundations of life; a balanced diet allows food supplements to circulate freely in the body, providing the necessary nutrients to renew/boost the immune system daily. We all rely on our immune systems to keep us moving forward, which is one of the main reasons we want our cells and tissues to function correctly.

Keeping in mind that the immune system is made up of proteins, cells, tissue, and organs that need to be taken care of at all times to keep them healthy, some foods can help strengthen the immune system.

Let’s say we’re human and have a blood-flowing system in our bodies to classify animals as domestic or wild. Of course, these animals get sick, just like we do, but do you know they recognize the kind of food or vegetables they need to boost their immune systems?

When our bodies come into contact with pathogens and antigens, our immune systems fire up and use antibodies to fight bacteria, infection, and toxins.

Please remember that the 2019 virus, COVID-19, cannot be resisted with food supplements. Still, proper hygiene, social distancing, and healthy precautions such as vaccination with the Pfizer or BioNTech vaccine can help prevent coronavirus, so I encourage everyone to get vaccinated at any designated hospital or specialist center.

Foods That Will Help to Strengthen Our Immune System

1. Citrus Fruits

Citrus fruits include Sweet oranges, Bergamot oranges, pomelos, lemons, grapefruits, and other flavored, colorful, and pretty fruits. Citrus fruits have a variety of health benefits, the majority of which are active in fighting cancer and boosting the immune system. Some people juice their citrus fruits, while others eat leathery rinds. To regulate and balance your daily diets.

The flavonoids in these fruits help us fight disorders like neurodegenerative diseases. Neurodegenerative disease is caused by inflammation, and citrus fruit can cure neurodegenerative illness due to its anti-inflammatory properties like hesperidin and apigenin.

I specifically recommend citrus fruits for daily ingestion before or after meals.

2. Garlic

Garlic has become popular in recent generations due to its health benefits, such as lowering blood pressure and preventing the hardening of the arteries (Atherosclerosis). It’s also an excellent source for boosting the immune system due to its sulfur concentration.

Garlic can be consumed in a multitude of ways; some people prefer to eat it raw, but I wouldn’t advise you to do so because of the unpleasant odor it leaves behind; instead, dice it and pour it into hot water with a bit of honey or chopped ginger to make a garlic tea; now, let me give you a healthy tip: “garlic tea combats cancer whether you drink it hot or cold.”

Garlic is one of the most refined foods to enhance your immune system; therefore, including it in your diet is a good idea.

But do you know Garlic plays a significant role in your sexual health and fertility?

No wonder the Greek physicians call it the “Father of Western medicine.”

3. Green/Black Tea

Whether you drink green or black tea, these food components are epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which aids in enhancing immune system functions and acts as an excellent germ fighter in the T-cells of the human body via the amino acid L-theanine. Because of the positive role it plays in human health; it also helps to prevent brain and heart disease.

With all of these benefits, it suffices to say that you should include Green/Black tea in your balanced diet if you want to live a long healthy life and fight disease in your body. However, excessive consumption is not recommended because you can use it as a substitute for coffee or an energy drink.

According to statistics, heart attacks are more common in those over 60 and can kill them quickly; therefore, drinking three cups of black tea every day will boost antioxidant levels and help prevent heart attacks and other heart diseases.

So, take some time today to visit one (physician or any specialist) and ask what types of foods your body system requires to boost your immune system daily, and remember that too much of anything is bad for you.
